Asbestos Management Services

While asbestos is now banned from use, it was a component of thousands of different products used in the community and industry from the 1940s until the late 1980s. Asbestos can be present in buildings and other structures built before 1990, and can pose a risk if not managed correctly.

WH&S Legislation requires that owners of workplaces must ensure all asbestos-containing materials (ACM) in their workplaces are identified and recorded in a register. Measures to prevent exposure to the ACM within the workplace should be implemented in accordance with an appropriate Asbestos
Management Plan.

ASTA has developed expertise in many aspects of asbestos management to assist you in meeting these requirements, including:

Asbestos Location & Identification Audits – Our auditors can assess buildings in accordance with legislative requirements ensuring that asbestos containing materials are identified and recorded in an appropriate register to ensure that health risks to occupants and building workers are minimised.

Risk Assessment – We can quantify exposure risks and apply risk assessment methods to determine risk of exposure to asbestos. This includes conducting annual re-inspection of ACM in workplaces, which is required by WH&S legislation.

Asbestos Management Planning – We can work with you and provide guidance on establishing an effective Asbestos Management Plan for managing asbestos at your workplace.

Asbestos Removal Management – We can develop Asbestos Removal Plans and Work Method Statements, provide onsite supervision of asbestos removal activities including air monitoring & clearance inspection services. ASTA can also provide accredited Class B Asbestos Removallist Training!
