ASTA SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT

The Australian Safety & Training Alliance is pleased to announce that this week an agreement was signed with the Mining Industry Skills Centre (a not for profit organisation coordinating mines training) for the delivery under licence of the Generic Induction for Mining (Coal, Metals and Heavy Industry including recertification’s).

"The Generic Induction program was developed 10 years ago with the aim of reducing repetitive induction training within the resources industry. The program is now the recognised induction standard for 80% of coal mine sites in the Bowen Basin in Queensland and is now being delivered in parts of New South Wales.

The Generic Induction program provides a centralised, quality-assured and standardised training program giving mine-sites peace of mind.

The Skills Centre is pleased that ASTA recognised the need for high quality training in the Bundaberg area, and is looking forward to working with ASTA in achieving a safe and skilled workforce for the future."

Jenny Neumann, General Manager - Operations.

In addition to the mines induction ASTA is also delivering Nationally Recognised Training for supervisors (commonly known as S1, S2, S3).

Our first Generic Mining Induction Coal Core course is scheduled for the 29th and 30th of October at ASTA's training rooms, 16 Princess St Bundaberg.
