Safety Net Meeting (Last and Next)

ASTA's recent SafetyNet meeting was well attended and members returned to their workplaces with lots of new information. Wide Bay Central Queensland Manager for the Department of Justice and the Attorney General (formerly DEIR- WHS) Mr Rob Noble informed the meeting of the government's current agenda in regards to Workplace Health & Safety targets for coming years.  Mr Noble also outlined changes to the WHS Regulation and upcoming audit activities planned by his department.

Group discussion focused on the new Provisional Improvement Notice (PIN's) which recently came into force and how the group could provide feedback to government.

General outcomes included plans for a SafetyNet chat page for members and items for discussion for the next meeting.  This included a planned training session on the Departments Manual Tasks assessment tool.

A BBQ lunch was also provided.

Next safety net meeting is 4 September 2009
