Who Should Attend
Any person who has an interest in traffic control or wishes to be a Traffic Controller, as required under State legislation.
Aim
To control traffic safely and effectively in accordance with Transport and Main Roads Procedures.
Course Outline
Pre Qualification
Participants must hold a current Drivers Licence or have been on P Plates for 12 months. Good eyesight and hearing. Be able to stand for periods of 2-3 hours or more. Be able to communicate well.
As part of this course participants are also required to log 20 hours on the job under supervision. An employment / work placement declaration must be completed prior to ASTA being able to accept your enrolment.
Assessment
Simulated traffic control (competency based) and a short written assessment. Practical Assessment to be conducted on completion of the log book hours.
Outcome
Participants who demonstrate competency will receive a Certificate of Attendance and a log book. Once the log book is returned a Statement of Attainment for RIIOHS205A Control Traffic with a Stop Slow Bat will be issued along with a stamped Queensland Transport Traffic Controller Accreditation Application. This will need to be completed and submitted with Queensland Transport along with a copy of the Statement of Attainment and fee for registration and a criminal check for all first time traffic controllers.
Delivery
The course will be delivered via a face-to-face format in either ASTA training rooms or at your workplace, depending on numbers and requirements. Scheduled public course dates are also available; please ask for a training calendar.

$250 per person + practical assessment charge + Licence Fee paid to Queensland Transport.
