Safe Working In Confined Spaces Refresher Course
Who Should Attend
Any employee who has been previously trained to a competent person standard and who may work, or is working in confined spaces.
Aim
The aim of this course is to refresh previously trained persons in the requirements of legislation and AS/NZS 2865-2001 (Safe Working in a Confined Space) to ensure their skills are maintained.
Course Outline
On completion, participants will have gained the knowledge to:
- Understand the legal requirements of AS/NZS 2865-2001 (Safe Working in Confined Spaces)
- Identify the likely hazards faced by persons involved in confined spaces work
- Conduct risk assessments and entry permits for confined spaces work
- Demonstrate the requirements for isolation and other risk control measures prior to confined space work
- Demonstrate the use of safety and rescue equipment required for confined space work
- Demonstrate the use of gas monitoring equipment and the methods of testing the atmosphere
- Demonstrate the technique of casualty assessment and rescue procedures.
Training Material
Participants receive A Guide to Working Safely in Confined Spaces, a Confined Space Risk Assessment and a Safe Work Permit.
Assessment
Participants will be required to complete theory and practical assessments with a 100% pass required. Observation of the participants will be conducted through this process.
Outcome
Participants who demonstrate competency by passing theory and practical assessments will receive a Statement of Attainment.
Delivery
This course is delivered via a face-to-face format at ASTA's training facilities, or at the client's premises depending on numbers and requirements.
