Safety In Trenching & Excavation
Who Should Attend
Persons who are required to perform work in and around trenching and excavation.
Aim
To give the participant the necessary skills to enable them to identify the hazards and risks associated with excavation work.
Course Outline
On completion of this course, participants will have an understanding of:
- Requirements under the Queensland Workplace Health & Safety Regulation for trenching and excavation work.
- Risk Management and Hazard identification.
- Shoring, benches and batters
- Soil types
- Emergency procedures
Training Material
Participants will receive Course Notes, risk assessments and legislation extracts.
Assessments
Participants will undertake practical and written assessments and completion of a trenching exercise within the 2 day course.
Outcome
Participants who demonstrate competency by successfully completing all assessments will receive a Statement of Attendance.
Delivery
The course will be delivered via a face-to-face format in ASTA's training rooms or on site dependent on client requirements.
Duration
Varies from 4 hours to two days dependent on client requirements - Note - Minimum participant numbers apply
